Our Ladies Staying in the Hen House
Here's Carbon, our 3 year old black lab enjoying a rare treat.

Unfortunately, we got caught without sunflower seed for the birds.  Juncos have been visiting the front porch and looking in at us with sad faces.  I've put some dry bread out for them but they snubbed that.  Chicken feed seemed to work though.
Arctic Blast '08

All we need is a horse and sleigh so we can enjoy this glorious scene.  This is our road in front of our house.

We put in 8 new windows in our sunroom to cut utilities. Old windows were blown and inefficient. Should make things warmer this winter.

Farm Images

There are many pictures here at the farm.... There are many photos that have not been taken.... that highlight the beauty of living here. Here are a couple that we did take.

Woodpile

Whew.....what a lot of work....we bought 2 cords of wood....stacking it was quite a chore.....but it is done.....with most beside the garage and a little inside the garage along the wall. We are ready for winter.

Deck Picture

Here is a picture of our deck which we constructed.....starting last year, digging out area....then building stone retaining wall.....laying in bed of gravel....and finally building a deck....it has been a nice addition that we have enjoyed sitting at this summer.

Annabella - Chief Chicken @ Arrowhead Springs Farm

We have 10 chickens, laying hens. 6 are Rhode Island Reds that lay brown eggs and 4 are Arcana hens that lay greenish blue eggs. We hope to be gathering eggs soon. We raised them from chicks that we bought at Wilco this past April. We have revitalized the old chicken shed that Ron's grandparents used to raise chickens over 50 years ago.

Our Dog Carbon

Don't let his sober look fool you. Behind the eyes of innocence lies a goof-ball full of mischief, ready to chew socks (favorite thing to do that he knows he is not supposed to do) and to irritate his canine colleague Sneakers, our serious and intense border collie.Posted by Picasa
